GONZALO
J. PLASCENCIA became interested in painting murals following
a high school course in Mexican-American history. This
combination of Mexican/Chicano History and Art led him
to create several noteworthy murals and paintings featuring
both historical and contemporary figures from the Mexican
and Chicano experience. The mural captures the evolution
of Mexicano and Chicano history from the founding of
Tenochitlan to the Chicano Movement period. It became
so popular that it has been used for the cover of a
textbook, greeting cards and is widely distributed as
a poster. Other poster works include:

- The
Mexican Revolution of 1910
- Latinos
